Another postcard of the Links, actually the same photograph as the sepia one but this one has been colourized and the cenotaph added!  It's hard to see whether the cenotaph is a photograph or has been painted in.
 Why not take another photograph? Again published by Valentines and posted in 1937.		 A photograph of the links taken in June 2007 for comparison.

Postcard of "The Village",  Whitley Bay,  published in the A & G Taylor "Orthocrhome" series.  Not posted but looks early 20th century.  States "by appointment to her late Majesty", presumably referring to Queen Victoria, who died in January 1901. Photograph taken in 2008 from a similar viewpoint.  Many of the buildings still exist, including the building at the right, which was until recently a Co-oP store but is now closed.

Postcard of "Arcadia", Whitley Bay, unknown publisher but postmarked March 24th., 1906.  Arcadia is the name of the east part of Whitley Road, between Whitley Bay and Cullercoats. Photograph of Arcadia taken in October 2008.  Unfortunately the mobile home obscures part of the view.  The inset photograph shows a plaque on the wall of the first building on the right, commemorating construction in 1899.
