Some detail from the postcard of the Spring Garden Steam Laundry.  Click on the image and zoom in, to see detail of adverts for  F.J. Smiths (?) Famed Regimental Cigarettes and Marcella Cigars. The building in which this was located no longer seems to exist.
Some detail of the Star and  Garter Hotel.  That building is now the King's Head Pub.

Photograph from a similar viewpoint, taken in April 2010.  The present church was built in 1892. The pinnacles visible on the postcard were apparently removed in 1937, after one fell of during a gale.
